Garmin Vivoactive 3 Tips and Tricks You Must Know
You don’t know much about your Garmin Vivoactive 3? This article will give you some great tips and tricks.
Vivoactive 3 has a variety of unique features such as GPS, live tracking and safety features.
Vivoactive 3 can be used to do many things such as running, swimming, biking, tracking your gym, navigation, and much more. The durable watch is packed with features.
Activity tracking
Garmin watches have automatic activity tracking. This means that you don’t need to monitor every sport individually. This feature is also available on Galaxy Watches. Garmin allows you to turn off or on the automatic activity.
Auto activity detection uses battery and keeps a few sensors active. You can still use them for special occasions, such as hiking or cycling. You can easily adjust the auto activity tracking.
These are the steps to adjust it.
Download the Garmin Connect App
The Menu
Select your Garmin device now
Search for “Auto Activity Start”
Now you can enable or disable it based on your preferences
All settings will be automatically saved by selecting the back Arrow
Note: When Auto Activity Start is turned on, Garmin Connect cannot determine when an activity started. Therefore, it can’t be viewed for up to 24 hours.
Install Garmin Vivoactive 3’s safety measures
This feature is often overlooked by most people. This safety tracking feature is only available in Garmin smartwatches of high quality, but all Vivoactive devices include it.
If you have a Garmin Vivoactive 3, set up the safety features. What safety features are most beneficial to you?
The watch will detect any activity and notify your emergency contacts immediately. First, add your emergency contacts in the Garmin Connect app.
An automated message will be sent to you with your name, LiveTrack link and location. You must enable Live Tracking when you’re on an adventure.
You can also turn on/off the incident detection feature. To save battery life, you should turn it off when performing indoor activities.
Customize Garmin Vivoactive 3
Vivoactive 3 can be customized to your liking so that you can fully take advantage of it. You will see three pages on the watch screen. You can then choose a widget such as distance, pace, speed.
By tapping on the watch face, you can change the face. There are many watch faces built in. You can choose any of them according to your preferences, and a few watch faces can also be customized.
You can also download third-party apps, watch faces and widgets from Garmin Connect. Everything you need, from your route widgets and power meter, can be found here. Follow these steps to download apps.
Open the Garmin ConnectIQ app from your smartphone.
Tap on the Garmin icon
Management tap activities & apps
Click on “Get More Applications”
Download your favorite app here
Any widget, watch face or running app can be installed. Run power, dWMap and Ride are some of the most widely used running apps. A Accuweather widget, which provides a daily forecast of the weather, is also recommended.
To save your battery life
Garmin watches have long-lasting batteries but there are still areas for improvement. You can make changes to improve the battery life of Vivoactive 3.
Garmin Vivoactive 3’s “Always On Display” (AOD) consumes more power. However, you can disable AOD. You can also reduce the brightness from the settings.
Auto Activity tracking is a common feature that people use every day, but it can also drain a lot of power. This is why I only recommend that you use the Auto Activity tracking feature when you’re on an adventure like hiking or biking. If you want to disable this feature, you will need to manually track your activity.
High backlight is another major factor in battery drain. If you spend most of your time indoors, we recommend that the backlight be kept at 10 percent.
Track your runs
Vivoactive has many ways to track your running. You have two options: you can set your watch automatically to track activity, or you can manually track it. This task can be accomplished in a quick and simple way.
Tap on Run and push the side button to start tracking your running.
Tracking gear
This is a great feature in Vivoactive 3. This feature allows you to track the wear on running shoes and bicycle equipment. It can also be paired with Garmin’s other sports devices, such as Garmin R10 golf launch monitor.
Your shoes will notify you when it’s time to change, once the distance has been recorded. Garmin Connect makes it easy to setup this feature. First, go to Menu->Gear->Enter Gear Information.
You can also edit, remove or retire specific gears. You can also add information like the model, brand, distance, and type of gear to help runners determine the best time to purchase new shoes.
